Chart Settings Window

You can use the Chart Settings window to modify the selected chart. Some of the other changes you can make using the Chart Setting window include:
 

 

 

 

The following table contains a description of each field on the Chart Settings window:

 

Field Name

Description

Period drop-down list

Specifies the time interval for the chart. Available options include:

  • Monthly - Can display up to 240 months

  • Weekly - Can display up to 50 weeks

  • Daily - Can display up to 730 days

  • 30 Minute - Can display information for 30 minute intervals for up to the past 30 days

  • 15 minute - Can display information for 15 minute intervals for up to the past 15 days

  • 5 minute - Can display information for 5 minute intervals for up to the past 6 days

  • 3 minute - Can display information for 3 minute intervals for up to the past 5 days

  • 1 minute - Can display information for 1 minute intervals for the past day

  • 1 second - Can display information in 1 second intervals starting 30 minutes ago

Start Date fields

The beginning date of the period displayed on the chart. You can set this to a specific date or to a certain number of days before today's date.

End Date fields

 

The ending date of the period displayed on the chart. You can set this to a specific date or to the current date.

Color Buttons

Display the Choose Color window where you can set the color of chart elements.

Symbol field

The symbol for the security you want to chart.

Study drop-down list

Lists studies which you can add to the chart.

Study Settings

Settings specific to the selected study type appear below the study list. You can use these settings to modify the study. You can select.

Add button

Click to add the selected symbol or study.

Remove button

Click to remove the selected symbol or study.

Chart Type drop-down list

Specifies the type of bar or line graph used in the chart.

 

Candlestick - Displays the data on the chart as a candlestick graph.

Bar - Displays the data on the chart as a bar graph.

High - Line - Displays the data on the chart as a line graph of highs for the specified period.

Low - Line - Displays the data on the chart as a line graph of lows for the specified period.

Open - Line - Displays the data on the chart as a line graph of opening prices for the specified period.

Close - Line - Displays the data on the chart as a line graph of closing prices for the specified period.

OK button

Click to use the selected settings and close the Chart Settings window.
