Market Maker window Overview

You can use the Market Maker window to view Level II information including market makers' bid and ask prices in a tabular format. Each price level is indicated by a band of color. This window can also display a Level I information panel, trade ticker, and a Bid/Ask by Exchange panel.

 

A few of the way in which you can customize the Market Maker window view include the ability to:

 

 

NOTE:

The NYSE contractually requires that no other exchange data can be displayed with NYSE Open Book data. When linking two Market Maker windows, the windows will change only when the markets they are displaying are different. For example, a market maker watching the NYSE Open Book will respond to other windows that are watching anything other than the NYSE Open Book.

Opening the Market Maker window

To view the Market Maker window, click the   button from the main window.

Ask Price Tiers

Indicates the Ask positions for each Market Maker

Level 1 panel

You can use the Level I Information panel to view basic information about a security such as the current price, today's highest price, and the accumulated trade volume. Click here for more information.

Bid/Ask By Exchange Panel

When viewing options, this panel displays Level I and Level II information for the selected symbol

Bid Price Tiers

Indicates the Bid positions for each Market Maker

Open Order Adjustment buttons

Open Order Indicator

Your orders are highlighted in relation to orders by other Market Makers.

Trade Ticker panel

The red, green, and white numbers in the left column represent the traded price

red

the trade was made on a down tick.

green

the trade was made on an up tick.

white

the trade was made on a zero tick.

The white numbers in the right  column

the total number of shares in the trade.

minus sign " - " in front of the price and volume of shares

The trade has been pulled off the tape.
