Order Load panel Overview

You can use the Order Load panel to load an order into the Market Maker or Market Depth window in anticipation of a sudden market movement. Use the speed and accelerator keys or simply double-click. The Order Load panel contains the following information:

 

 

The Order Load panels contain the following items:

 

Field Name

Description

Buy button

Click to place a Buy order.

Cover button

Click to cover a position.

CXL (symbol) button

Click to cancel all open orders for the security whose symbol appears on the button.

Limit Amount

The price at which an order will execute

Order Indicators

 

Indicate which order options are enabled:

C = Convert Intention

P = Use Position

A = Place Proactive Orders

H = Hide Orders if possible. This option only works with some exchanges

Order Fill drop-down list

The way you want the order filled. Valid values are:

  • PART (Accept partial fills)

  • AON (All or None)

Price Type drop-down list

 

The type and amount of the order's price. Valid price types are:

  • LMT (Limit Order)

  • MKT (Market Order)

  • MOC (Market On Close)

  • STP-MKT (Stop Market Order)

  • STP-LMT (Stop Limit Order)

  • TRL-STP (Trailing Stop Order)

  • PEG BID (Pegged Bid) Orders will peg to the same side of the NBBO (i.e a buy order at the bid and a sell order at the offer)

  • PEG MID (Mid Pegged Order) Mid-Peg will peg an order to the mid-point of the NBBO

  • PEG ASK (Pegged Ask Order)

  • PEG BID LMT (Pegged Bid Limit Order)

  • PEG MID LMT (Pegged Mid Limit Order)

  • PEG ASK LMT (Pegged Ask Limit Order)

Quantity field

The number of shares you want to trade.

Route drop-down list

Specifies the route by which the order will be submitted.

 

TIP: You can use the Page Up and Page Down keys to cycle through the routes once an order is loaded into the Order Load panel.

Route Preference check box

Indicates whether you want to preference the order, and, if so, the market maker or ECN you want to preference. When creating the order from a Market Maker or Market Depth window,  the ECN or the market maker on the row you double-clicked appears in the Preference box.

 

This field is used in conjunction with the Pref: field, type the name of the ECN you want to use in the Pref: field

Route Preference field

Used in conjunction with the Preference check box. Type the name of the ECN you want to use for the trade.

Sell button

Click to place a Sell order.

Short button

Click to short an order.

Time In Force drop-down list

Specifies how long the order will be valid. Valid values are:

  • IOC (Immediate or Cancel)

  • GTC (Good Till Cancelled)

  • DAY (Good for the Day)
