Adding Speed Keys

You can use speed keys to quickly perform an action or display a function window in Ultimate Trader. For example, you can set a speed key to open the Blotter window when you press F6, or close all open positions when you press F9.

 

NOTE: Make sure that the Speed Key option is enabled so your new speed key selections will function. You can press on the Ultimate Trader main window to quickly enable and disable speed key functionality.

 

Perform the following procedure to add a speed key:

 

  1. From the Ultimate Trader main window, select Tools>Settings. The Settings window appears.

  2. Click the Speed Keys tab


     

  3. From the Categories section, select the function you want to assign to a speed key

  4. Click the Add button to add a speed key. A new row appears with a default speed key selection.

  5. To change the associated key, click the Key indicator and press the new key you want associated with the function

NOTE: Because the slash (/), dollar sign ($), and plus sign (+) are used in some symbols, you cannot create speed keys with these characters.

  1. Change the other options for the speed key as necessary

  2. Click the OK button to save the new speed key settings.
