Linking Views

You can link function windows to each other so that a symbol change in one function window is applied to the other windows linked to it. You can link the following function windows using the Link Group Manager:

• Market Maker

• Blotter

• Time/Sales

• Market Minder

• Market Depth

• Option Chain

• Chart

Linked function windows display the following behavior:

• Clicking a symbol in the Market Minder window changes the symbol in the Market Maker window, the symbol in the Time/Sales window, and the primary symbol in the Chart window.

• Changing the primary symbol in the Charts window changes the symbol in the Time & Sales and Market Maker windows.

• Changing the symbol in the Market Maker window changes the symbol in the Time & Sales window and the primary symbol in the Chart window.

• Changing the symbol in the Time/Sales window changes the symbol in the Market Maker window and the primary symbol in the Chart window.

Perform the following to create a Link Group:

1. From the Ultimate Trader main menu, select Tools>Manage Links. The Link Group Manager window appears.

2. In the Groups field, type the name of the new link group you want to create. Notice the Add button is now available.

3. Click the Add button. The link group name moves to the Group List field.

4. Perform one or more of the following:
   NOTE: Each function window in Ultimate Trader is automatically assigned a unique ID number which appears in the title-bar within brackets (i.e. [9]). When multiple function windows of the same type are open, make sure to select the function window with the correct ID number.

• To add a function window to the link group, click the name of the function window in the Available section and then click the Add>> button. The window name will appear in the In Group section.

• To remove a function window from the link group, click the name of the window in the In Group section and then click the <<Remove button.

• To remove all functions windows from the link group, click the <<Remove All button.

5. Click OK to save the changes and close the window. You can now click on a symbol in one window and it will change the views in the linked windows to the corresponding view.
