Setting Default Order Entry Options for Specific Symbols

You can set default values for specific symbols entered into the Order Entry window. For example, you can set the default number of shares to 500 when you enter MSFT into the Order Entry window, or set the default Route to ARCA when you type CSCO into the Order Entry window.

Perform the following to set default order entry options for a specific symbol:

1. You can create a list of symbols with default settings from the Settings window - Order Entry tab. To access this window, select Tools>Settings from the main window and then click the Order Entry tab.
   
   
    

2. Select the appropriate tab, Equity, Option, or Future, for the symbol you want to add

3. In the Symbol field, type the symbol

4. Click

5. On the right, click the check box to enable the default options you would like to set for the selected symbol. For example, if you want to set the default quantity for the selected symbol, click the Quantity check box

6. In the corresponding fields, type a new default value for the selected symbol.
