Field Name

View information about your system such as the operating system and Java version.

System Properties section

View additional information about the system and software including file versions and path settings.

Select formatting of fractional prices drop-down list

Use this field to select the formatting of prices that are displayed as fractional prices, such as futures contracts. You can display fractional prices in the following formats:

• Standard (ex. 5 12/32)

• Lowest Common Divisor (ex. 5 3/8)

• Flat Format (ex. 5120)

Default Currency

Use this field to select the default currency type displayed in currency fields in the system.

NOTE:  The Level II window will automatically display currency values native to the security being viewed.

NOTE: The Blotter and Balance windows allow you to select Base Currency columns (denoted by a (Base) at the end of the column name). You can use these columns to display values as currency types different than the default system currency.

Enable logging of debugging information

When enabled, this option increases the amount of logging data generated. This increased information can be useful to the ITS support staff to better determine the cause of any production issues.

A log file is automatically created each time Ultimate Trader is started. On Windows 2000 systems, the generated log file is placed in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\.its

The log file for the last day Ultimate Trader was used is called swingtrader.log. Logs for previous days indicate the date as part of the file name.

Enable integration with external applications. Port configuration.

Enable this option to allow external applications to communicate with Ultimate Trader. This option is used in conjunction with the Port Number field. Click here for more information on the Remote Control feature of Ultimate Trader.

Request field

Use this field to type or select the port number external applications should use to communicate with Ultimate Trader. This field is used in conjunction with the Enable access... check box. The default value for this field is 9,999

Publish field

Use this field to type or select the port number used by Ultimate Trader to send information to external applications. This field is used in conjunction with the Enable access... check box. The default value for this field is 9,998

Connections button

Click to view the Connection Manager window so you can view and change connection information.

OK button

Click to accept changes and close the Settings window
