Field Name

Description

Start Date fields

The beginning date of news stories to display. You can set this to a specific date or a certain number of days before today's date.

End Date fields

The ending date of the period displayed on the chart. You can set this to a specific date or to the current date.

Maximum Headlines

Select the maximum number of headlines to display at one time.

Change query via link events

When this option is enabled and the News window is part of a linked window group, when you type a symbol into a linked window the Query Expression will change to show only stories pertaining to the symbol you entered.

Query Expression

Use this option to type a search expression. Click here for more information.

Query Wizard

You can use this option to create a list of symbols, keywords, words and phrases that stories must contain in order to appear in the News window.  Click here for more information.

Symbol field

The symbol for the securities you want news stories about.

Keyword field

You can use this field to limit the display to news stories containing the keywords listed here.

Add button

Click to add the selected symbol.

Remove button

Click to remove the selected symbol.

Show Headlines containing: fields

Select whether the news stories you want displayed must match all (AND option) or any ( OR option) symbol, any or all keywords listed, or a combination of symbols and keywords.

And

When selected, the search results will contain only those stories which include all the listed symbols.

Or

When selected, the search results will contain any stories which include at least one of the listed symbols.

Preview section
(lower half of window)

Use this section to preview your changes.

OK button

Click to use the selected settings and close the News Setup window.

Cancel button

Closes this window without updating the search results.
