Create Speed Keys to Place an Order

You can use speed keys to place orders in Ultimate Trader. For example, you can set a speed key to open the Blotter window when you press F6. Make sure that the Speed Key option is enabled so your new speed key selections will function.

Perform the following procedure to add a Speed Key:

1. From the Ultimate Trader main window, select Tools>Settings. The Settings window appears.

2. Click the Speed Keys tab

3. From the Categories section, click Place Order. The place order speed key options appear in the Current Keys section.
   
   
    

4. Click the Add button to add a new speed key for placing orders. A new row appears with a default speed key selection.

5. To change the associated key, click the Key indicator and press the new key you want associated with placing orders.

6. Change the other fields to record default options for placing orders using a speed key.
   
   TIP: Create several speed keys for placing different types of orders.
    

7. Click the OK button to save the new speed key settings.
