Executive Quote window Overview

You can use the Executive Quote window to view information about a security such as the:

 

 

 

 

TIP: You can also view Level 1 information at the top of the Market Maker and Market Depth windows by using the Level 1 panel.

 

The following table contains a description of each field on the Executive Quote window panel:

 

Field Name

Description

Default Fields

Ask

Indicates the current Ask price for the security.

Bid

Indicates the current Bid price for the security.

Bid Tick

Indicates whether the latest bid price is higher, lower, or the same as the previous bid.

Chg. Close

Indicates the amount of change between the current price and the previous close price.

Empty Cell

This cell is used to place empty spaces in the Level 1 layout.

High

Indicates the highest price the security reached today.

High 52

Indicates the highest price the stock has reached in the last 52 weeks.

Last Price

Indicates the current price of the security.

Low

Indicates the lowest price the security fell to today.

Low 52

Indicates the lowest price the stock has dropped to in the last 52 weeks.

Open

Indicates the price the security opened with today.

Prev Close

Indicates the price the security closed the previous market session.

Qty. Override

 

This field indicates the default quantity override value in use. If there is no override value in use, this field will appear empty.

Trade Exchange

Indicates the exchange used for the last trade.

Trade Time

Indicates the time the last trade occurred.

Tot. Volume

Indicates the accumulated trade volume of the security today.

Available Fields

Ask Exch

The Exchange placing the current Ask.

Ask Size

The number of shares offered by a broker or dealer at the ask price.

Ask Time

The time the ask was placed

Avg Vol

The Average Daily Volume is the average number of shares traded over the last 100 trading days.

 

This value is useful for judging how liquid a stock is (thinly traded issues are riskier) and whether any one day's volume marks a sharp departure from circumstances that could be relevant to shareholders.

Bid Exch

The Exchange placing the current Bid.

Bid Size

The number of shares offered at the bid price.

Bid Time

The time at which the bid was placed.

Bid/Ask

The bid and ask prices displayed in one column (bid x ask).

Bid/Ask Size

The bid and ask sizes displayed in one column (bid size x ask size).

Bid/Ask Spread

The difference between the bid and ask prices.

Chg. Close %

The percent change in price for a security from the closing price the previous market day.

Chg. Last

Change from Last. The difference between the current price and the previous price.

Chg. Open

Change from Open. The difference between the current price and the opening price.

Chg. Open %

The percent change in price for a security from the opening price.

Chg. Over

The change in price for a security from the open

Chg. Over %

The change over expressed as a percentage

Dir. Last

Indicates whether the current price is higher () or lower () than the price of the most recent trade of the security.

Div

Dividend. A cash payment, using profits, announced by a company's board of directors and distributed among stockholders. Dividends may be in the form of cash, stock, or property. All dividends must be declared by the board of directors.

EPS

Earnings Per Share. Indicates the portion of a company's profit allocated to each outstanding share of common stock. Most companies use a weighted average number of shares outstanding over the reporting term.

EPS = (Net Income - Dividends on Preferred Stock) / Average Outstanding Shares

Empty Cell

This cell is used to place empty spaces in the Level 1 layout.

Imbalance

Indicates the amount of imbalance with the selected symbol. Imbalances occur when too many of one type of order, either buy or sell, has been received for a particular stock.

Market Cap

Market Capitalization. The total dollar value of all outstanding shares. Market Cap = Total number of shares * Current Market Price

No. Trades

Indicates the accumulated number of trades for the security today.

P/E Ratio

A valuation ratio of a company's current share price compared to its per-share earnings.

P/E Ratio = Market Value per Share / Earnings per Share (EPS)

Shrs Outstanding

The number of shares that are currently owned by investors. This includes restricted shares (shares owned by the company's officers and insiders) and shares held by the public. Shares that the company has repurchased are not considered outstanding stock.

Symbol

The currently displayed symbol

Today's Close

Indicates today's closing price for the selected security.

Trade Size

Indicates the size of the last trade.

Yield %

The rate of return on an investment.
