Time and Sales Window Overview

You can use the Time and Sales window to view a real-time or historical display of bids, asks, and trades for a specified security.

 

A customizable color display highlights bid and ask prices and transactions in relation to the current bid and ask prices. There are four color tiers:

 

 

You can link a Time and Sales view to charts, minder views, and Level II views.

 

Opening the Time and Sales window

To view the Time and Sales window, click the button from the Main window.

 

 

 

 

The following table contains a description of each field on the Time and Sales window:

 

Field Name

Description

Ask Exch

Indicates the exchange associated with the Ask price

Time

The time the bid, ask, or trade was made

Indicator

Indicates the type of transaction

 

  • Q - Quotes

  • T - Trades less than or equal to the current bid

  • T - Trades greater than or equal to the current ask

  • T - Trades between the current bid and ask

 

NOTE: The trade types are also distinguished by the color selections made in the Time and Sales Setup window.

Price

The price of the shares bid, offered, or traded

Size

The number of shares bid, offered, or traded

Exchange

The name of the exchange involved in the transaction

Bid

Indicates the bid price at the time of the transaction

Ask

Indicates the ask price at the time of the transaction

Bid/Ask Size

Indicates the bid/ask ratio at the time of the transaction

Tick

 

Indicates whether the bid or ask was made on an up, down, or zero tick. For trades, a handshake icon is displayed.

  • indicates the bid or ask was made on an up tick.

  • indicates the bid or ask was made on a down tick.

  • Blank (no icon) indicates the bid or ask was made on a zero tick.
